The Criminal Investigations Division investigates all crimes that are assigned to it.  This includes property crimes, violent crimes, deaths, sex crimes, and homicides.  The investigations division is currently staffed by 3 case detectives and 1 narcotics detective that is assigned to the Bullitt County Drug Task Force.

Additionally the Shepherdsville Police Department has a licensed Polygraph Examiner that conducts Pre-Employment Screening and Speciffic Issue testing for local law enforcement agencies.
